A) The quality of Canadian gloves is more consistent. The production of imported gloves can jump from factory to factory. So you're never sure the quality has been maintained from one shop to the next.

Q) Are leather gloves waterproof?

A) A grain leather is water resistant. A split leather is not.

Q) What's the difference between a grain leather and split leather?

A) "Grain" leather denotes the outside of the hide. "Split" leather denotes the inside of the hide. Even though leather can be divided into as many different layers as you wish, the outside remains "the grain," while all the inside layers are "split."
